About Us
The Music Seen, LLC burst onto the scene (pun intended) in 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With an incredible 25 years of experience working alongside independent artists, we set out on a mission to uplift their artistry when live music was in short supply and rarely seen. Today, we are thrilled to partner with a variety of venues in and around Austin, bringing together touring artists and local talents with dedicated followings.
Our Story
The Music Seen began as a compilation album spotlighting emerging artists from the Boston area. Distributed by Rearview Records, the label was instrumental in promoting artists such as Jake Hill and The Working Title, while also overseeing production for a range of nationally touring pop punk bands across the Northeast, including early tours featuring Paramore, The Receiving End of Sirens, and The Starting Line.
In October 2009, Rearview Records was acquired by Rounder Records, and for more than a decade, The Music Seen remained dormant as the concept of a DIY musician transformed alongside the rise of social media. After relocating to Austin in 2020, The Music Seen made a comeback with a mission to support local artists in showcasing their music in creative and unique ways (virtual shows, private parties, and the list goes on).
Today, The Music Seen has teamed up with Sonic Guild (formerly Black Fret) and Resound Presents to produce shows throughout Austin and offer business services (accounting, tax, etc.) to the local music scene.
